Cedric Thompson was born and raised in Anderson, SC under his grandparent’s guidance. Cedric started playing and taking lessons at the age of three. He would begin playing publicly while he and his younger brother would have sing as the Thompson Brothers at the early age of three and four years old.

Cedric began playing and teaching the youth choir at his church at the age of 13 and experienced his first recording session at the age of 15. During this time, Cedric helped form the first Gospel Ensemble at his high school T. L. Hanna High School in Anderson, SC and also went on to form his group with whom he also recorded with.

Cedric achieved many awards during this time both musically and in sports. After High School and receiving a scholarship, Cedric attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. While in Charlotte, Cedric began playing and traveling with John P. Kee and during this time he met his future wife LeJuene Hayes-Thompson who also was a member of Pastor John P. Kee’s New Life Community Choir. After two years, Cedric and LeJuene joined in holy matrimony and moved to Fayetteville, NC where he would become the Min. of Music at the Deliverance Temple of Truth Church. After two years of marriage, Cedric and LeJuene had their first son Cedric Jr., and within the next four years their next two sons Christopher and Chandler.

During this time, Cedric began more producing and writing for several artists and local talent. After six years in Fayetteville, he and his family moved to Greensboro, NC. Shortly after Cedric would go on to help put together a group of friends known as “The Promise” who would go on to secure a recording contract with Word Records. This was one of his first nationally produced projects.
Since then, Cedric has won several awards along with two Stellar Awards and numerous Stellar nominations, Four Dove Awards nominations, Gospel Music Excellence Awards, and three Grammy nominations.

Cedric has written, arranged, and produced for such artists as his wife LeJuene Thompson, Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers, Twinkie Clark, Karen Clark-Sheard, Moniqe Walker, Men of Standard, Rodney Posey, Rodnie Bryant, Teresa Hairston’s Gospel Heritage, Shirley Murdock, Bishop T. D. Jakes, Queen Latifah, Heather Headley, LaShun Pace, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Patrick Lundy and The Ministers of Music, and many others.

Presently, along with producing and writing for Ced’s Productions, Cedric and LeJuene has launched their new label LeCe Entertainment.
